The Moderating Effect of Attentional Control in the Relationship between Rejection Sensitivity and Interpersonal Problems

The purpose of the present study was to examine the moderating effect of attentional control on the relationship between rejection sensitivity and interpersonal problems. 261 undergraduate students completed the questionnaires measuring The Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire Scale(RSQ), Attentional Control Questionnaire(ACQ), Short form of the Korea Inventory of Interpersonal Problems Circumplex Scale (KIIP-SC). The data were analyzed by using correlation analysis, Hierarchical regression analysis. The results of the study are as follows: First, rejection sensitivity was positively correlated with independent interpersonal problems. dependent interpersonal problems. control interpersonal problems. and attention control was negatively correlated with independent interpersonal problems. dependent interpersonal problems. Second, attention control moderated the relationship between rejection sensitivity and dependent interpersonal problems. However, attention control had no moderating effect on the relationship between rejection sensitivity and independent interpersonal problems. control interpersonal problems. Based on the results, the implications and limitations of this study were discussed.
